Luxurious hotels

Lanzarote boasts numerous 5-star hotels, so you have a great list to choose from. With strict building regulations, all resorts are low-rise and tastefully designed. Here are some fabulous 5-star hotels to tempt you:

  • Princesa Yaiza in Playa Blanca – this is an elegant hotel that caters for children without compromising on quality and luxury for adults. It is set on the beach promenade in gorgeous gardens featuring palm trees and water features.
  • Hesperia Lanzarote Hotel in Puerto Calero – a stunning hotel set in beautiful scenery, encompassing a private beach, gym, spa and golf.
  • Hotel Volcan Lanzarote in Playa Blanca – a splendid hotel overlooking the marina with a great choice of pools and views of Lobos and Fuerteventura.

Fine dining

Lanzarote doesn’t only offer 5-star accommodation, but also serves up an array of high-end restaurants. You could even turn your meal into an experience by eating at a restaurant in a volcanic cave at Jameos del Agua. We’ve put together our top three restaurants for you to sample:

  • La Tegala – found outside Puerto del Carmen, this stylish restaurant produces traditional Canarian cuisine and stunning views across the sea to Fuerteventura. Recommended dishes are the rabbit or lamb mains, and the cuttlefish and chickpea stew as a starter.
  • El Lago –recommended by The Telegraph, this is an elegant seaside place popular with locals and situated between Arrieta and Punta Mujeres. The waiters are fantastic for advice on the best fish dishes freshly caught that day.
  • Almacén de la Sal – a romantic setting with a live pianist, impeccable service and cuisine, this characterful old salt repository is situated by the sea in Playa Blanca.

Unwinding

Lanzarote offers a number of pristine blue flag beaches for you to laze the days away. Try Playa Blanca for a peaceful location or Puerto Calero for a stylish marina and Playa de Pocillos for a long wide beach and a good selection of amenities.

For the ultimate indulgence in relaxation, try one of the many thalassotherapy spas on the island. Here are a few for you to choose from:

  • Hotel Beatriz Spa, Costa Teguise – styled like Roman Baths and offers sea water treatments, massages and caviar facials.
  • Jameos Playa, Puerto del Carmen – a chic establishment offering therapies and treatments including aloe-vera, lemon-lavender and chocolate-based products.
  • Terma Europa, Puerto Calero – one of the newer spas so pristine and offers the most up to date treatments These include powerful jet treatments and a Musiquarium where you can listen to music under water.
